About the event
Granger Historical Society will be having an open house with the theme of Good OLD Summertime on Saturday, May 17, 1-4. You will have a chance to learn about Granger's history in the summers. Included topics will be historic stories from Granger's past, Granger Lake and other places used for swimming, horse races, croquet, horseshoes, farm work done in summer, county fair, and more.
We'll feature displays of antique and vintage summer items like bathings suits, bicycles, beach toys, picnic baskets, picnic table cloths, baseball equipment, and more. Chippewa Historical Society will be joining us with a display as Chippewa was a popular place for Granger folks to visit or work.
You can play croquet or horseshoes on The Green in front of the historical society as those in Granger did in years gone past.
We’ll have a Summertime Alley where local organizations can promote the events they have coming up this summer.
In the pavilion next door, Granger Church will have a craft and bake sale.
Let us know if you have something to lend us for display, and be sure to save the date!
